Beauty Blog: Review - Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Colour

Hey Everyone,

I recently found a new makeup product that I absolutely love so I knew I had to share it with you guys. This is a fairly new product  by  Laura Mercier called Metallic Creme Eye Colour and its like MAC paint pots or MAC paints but only better. The Metallic Creme Eye Colours are extremely pigmented and can be used either as a base under eyeshadow or all by itself as an all over lid color or use two as an all over lid color and another in the crease.

I have tried three colors and all are gorgeous, I have been wearing them religiously every day! The colors I purchased are:

Alloy is a great neutral color for either day or night, it can be used as a base under pretty much any color family or by itself for a very neutral eye look. When I went out to dinner after work last week I just had on alloy with a bit of mascara, to dress it up for night time I put gold in the crease and blended it out with a big fluffy brush.

One item to note about these creme shadows is a lot goes a long way, they come in small tubes and I have barely made a dent in any of them because how pigmented and creamy they are.

As far as application, to apply as an all over lid color I normally just put some on the back of my hand and use my ring finger to apply, similar how you would apply a paint pot. If you want a more precise application of the color in the corner, center of the eye or in the crease, you can use a flat shading brush.

I highly recommend these cream shadows, I purchased mine at my local Sephora, but I believe you can find them also at your local department store at the Laura Mercier counter.

As always if you have any questions about the product I will be more than happy to answer.

Fashion Blog: Review of Lane Bryant's Right Fit Jeans

So before I start my review I should probably tell you more about my size, my style and my build. In shirts/tops I wear usually a 22/24 but sometimes an 18/20. In pants I can range anywhere from a 22-26, I'm about 5'8" 1/2, 275 lbs with more of a pear shape, although I do have some on top, most is on bottom. My style is very classic with a twist of trendy. I like pieces that will last more than one season, but also like to mix in fun inexpensive pieces that will come and go.

The above picture I took from Lane Bryant's site (hopefully I will not get on their naughty list for that). I purchased the Distinctly Boot Cut Jeans in 26 Average Red. I know what you are thinking, you said you are pear shaped buy blue! For those of you who have never shopped at Lane Bryant or have never heard of the Right Fit System, there are three different cuts:
Yellow - straight at the hips, Red - slightly curved at the hips, Blue - extremely curvy at the hips

I tried on this style of jeans in a 24 Average in Red and Blue and a 26 Average in Red and Blue. Here are my thoughts on the blue, they are too baggy for me. If they fit my waist there is too much excess hanging in the back and I felt like I got the "Mom Jean" effect. I was trying to find a nice pair of jeans, not just for knocking around the house, but for going out. Something I can dress up with a blazer and a pair of heels or dress down with a cute tee and cute sneakers. The 24 Average in Red barely closed and was way too tight. The 26 Average in Red seemed to fit me perfectly.

I have to say BRAVO to Lane Bryant for their re-release of the Right Fit Jeans. I bought a pair when they had that odd sizing of numbers 1-8 I think it was. I was in between a 5 and 6, and they never fit me as well as I would have liked. I also found their whole right fit numbering system completely confusing. I think they have got it this time! They have several great cuts. I didn't have time to try on all of the cuts, but I look forward to trying on the straight cut jeans. My friend recently bought a pair and she said she loves them.

Have any of you bought or tried on any of the new Right Fit jeans? If so, what did you think?

I hope you found this review helpful, please feel free to ask anything about the jeans and I will gladly answer!

Thanks for reading!

My Very First Blog!

Hey Everyone!

This is my very first blog, not just on this site but anywhere! My passions in life are fashion, makeup, handbags, perfume, clothes, shoes, hair products, etc etc etc. I have always wanted to do blogs about my passion but never found a very good venue. I thought this might be a great venue for a few reasons:
  • Lots of other wonderful plus size women who adore fashion who I can trade tips, tricks and reviews with.
  • Everyone seems very respectful of each other here, someone may disagree with what I'm saying, but no one has ever belittled or berated me on this site.,
  • Its free :)
I'm going to be doing blogs about things I have purchased that have to do with any of these topics and review them for you guys. I recently made a few purchases at Sephora, MAC, Lane Bryant, Torrid and Fashion to Figure. I never post anything to brag about what I have or what I have bought. I will only be posting to give my honest opinion on something and hear what others have to say about it. I would love if others would start posting blogs like this too. Maybe on an article of clothing you bought, what did you think, how did it look after you washed it, how did it fit, was it true to size, etc etc.

I have a passion for plus size fashion and I'm ready to share it with the world! Well at least with this community. One day I may start doing videos on youtube, but not sure if I'm ready for that yet.

Your thoughts, comments and feedback are always appreciated.

All the best,
Cheryl Diane
